How to care for a Persian Kitten
Feeding Your New Kitten
Your new Persian kitten needs to be fed a premium quality cat food throughout their lifetime. Persians should not eat cheap commercially available cat food from grocery stores because they contain high amounts of fillers and do not contain the protein required or other essential nutrients to support a Persians dietary needs. They can develop serious health problems such as kidney disease, renal failure, and other life-threatening conditions that will end up costing thousands of dollars in veterinary bills.
Spend your money on high quality cat food from the beginning and you will save thousands in vet bills.
The food bowl should be emptied and washed daily, and food should not be allowed to remain as it will become stale and absorb moisture which will eventually begin to attract bacteria that could be harmful to your cat.
The same process should be done with their water bowl, it should be cleaned daily and replenished with clean water.
We use special water bowls that are specially made for Persians called BEEHIVE PLATES. They are designed especially for cats with a flat face. They prevent them from getting messy. You can buy them from https://www.visnintfeline.com
If your dog eats your cat’s food, you can place it on the counter, your dog will not be able to climb as easily as your cat. Your cat however should not eat your dog’s food.
If your kitten is eating dry food as its main meal, they may be offered canned food for breakfast and dinner. Canned food should be fed as a secondary treat if proper amounts of the dry food are being consumed. The dry food will keep your kitten’s digestive system on track and produce with healthy stools.
